The jewel of Austrian aesthetics, Wien’s opulent Kunsthistorisches Museum is home to the formidable and awe-inspiring collection of the Habsburg dynasty:  Europe’s most powerful imperial family. The sheer expansiveness of the Habsburg dynasty meant painters like Velasquez and Titian had patronage, and ensured a monolithic collection. How wonderful it would be to spend an afternoon among the austere pillars of the Kunsthistorisches’ palatial, neo-baroque buildings, perhaps sip a Viennese coffee in its café, and take in all the riches this museum harbors. Listen to a Strauss waltz while you check out our curated top 13 works from this great collection!
